Musical Direction
Leading sound within ensembles through listening, preparation, and shared musical intent.
Ways of Working
My work as a musical director / conductor centers on building a clear and flexible rehearsal process, developing skills alongside the enjoyment of making music together.
I work with ensembles to develop repertoire, maintain musical readiness, and shape performances with care for sound balance and collective confidence. Rehearsals are structured yet open, creating a focused, relaxed atmosphere where singers and instrumentalists feel comfortable, engaged, and supported.
The aim is not only musical clarity, but also a rehearsal space where people enjoy being present, working together toward performances that feel alive and shared.
Current Work
Ut Koer — Choir Director & Musical Director
Ut Koer is a pop choir based in Heerlen, the Netherlands, known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and shared joy in singing and performing together. Singers of different backgrounds come together to enjoy rehearsals and performances in an open, relaxed, and positive setting. The repertoire focuses mainly on pop songs from the 1960s to today, with regular performances in a variety of contexts that emphasize connection, energy, and enjoyment on stage.
Alongside this ongoing role, I collaborate with project-based ensembles and temporary productions in different formats and contexts.
Listening & Leading
I approach musical direction as a shared and human-centered practice. Rehearsals are spaces for attentive listening, clear communication, and mutual responsibility, where musical work can develop in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Beyond precision, I value connection, and the ensemble experience of sound. Performances grow from this process: feeling grounded, responsive, and joyful, shaped through awareness and delivering energy on stage.
